RESEARCH PROJECTS:

GSS - General Social Survey
The GSS is an almost annual, "omnibus," personal interview survey of U.S. households conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) with James A. Davis and Tom W. Smith as principal investigators (PIs). The first survey took place in 1972 and since then more than 35,000 respondents have answered over 2500 different questions.

ISJP - International Social Justice Project
The International Social Justice Project is an international collaborative research project which has explored popular beliefs and attitudes on social, economic and political justice through two large-scale opinion surveys fielded in thirteen countries in 1991 and six countries in 1996.

ISSP - Internationa Social Survey Programme
The ISSP is a continuing annual programme of cross-national collaboration on surveys covering topics important for social science research. It brings together pre-existing social science projects and coordinates research goals, thereby adding a cross-national, cross-cultural perspective to the individual national studies. 33 countries are members of the ISSP.

LIS - Luxembourg Income Study

SSEE - Social Stratification in Eastern Europe After 1989
The international project led by I. Szelenyi and D. J. Treiman (UCLA). The SSEE general population surveys were conducted in 6 countries: in 1993 in Bulgaria (N=4 919), the Czech Republic (4 737 and Prague oversample 884), Hungary (4 977) , Russia (5 002), Slovakia (4 920), and in 1994 in Poland (Poland 3 520, Warsaw sample 1 503).
